Gather Required Tools and Parts First

Before starting, collect all necessary items for the connection. You’ll need a PVC layflat hose, a PVC pipe adapter, a hose clamp and a utility knife. Double-check that the adapter’s threads match the PVC pipe. Because this prevents leaks later. Also, prepare a clean cloth to wipe dirt off the PVC layflat hose and pipe ends.

Prepare the PVC Layflat Hose End

Use the utility knife to cut the end of the layflat discharge hose straight. Make sure the cut is smooth—no frayed edges, as these can stop the hose from sealing tightly. Then, wipe the cut end of the PVC lay flat hose with the clean cloth. Remove any dust or moisture, since debris can break the seal between the hose and adapter. Gently stretch the hose end slightly to make it easier to slide over the adapter.

Attach and Secure the Connection

Slide the hose clamp over the PVC layflat hose first. Don’t forget this step, as you can’t add it later. Next, push the layflat water hose onto the adapter until it reaches the adapter’s shoulder. Then, slide the hose clamp up to the adapter’s base. Tighten the clamp with a screwdriver—twist until it’s firm, but not too tight. Because overtightening can damage the PVC hose. Finally, screw the adapter onto the PVC pipe. Test the connection by running water—if there’s no leak, the job is done.
